Les Blachut is a keyboard-based mallet percussion player. Voted top ten in the vibraphone category of the reader´s pool published by "Jazz Forum" magazine. Les Blachut was born in Poland and started learning music in his early childhood.. Moved to America in 1989. Graduated from Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Studied with Gary Burton, John LaPorta and Wayne Ward. Toured USA, Canada, Europe, and Caribbean Islands performing, recording, composing, producing music and teaching instrumental and classroom music. Since 1997 Les Blachut has been an active music performer, music teacher and a church music director in South Florida. He worked as a judge for two major songwriting competitions. He is associated with internationally recognized institutions of higher education and music production. Les Blachut, currently a resident of Coconut Creek, FL, has been known to provide a quality music entertainment in many of the region’s fine dinning establishments and concert halls. He’s also known as an actively involved member of the local musicians’ union. In his musical career Les performed and recorded with a diverse group of popular entertainers, innovators of experimental music, and numerous jazz artists.
